A new philatelic venture · Est. 2026
Quality classic stamps, carefully chosen — to preserve the world's most delicate stories.
Big Sky Stamps is a one-dealer operation built on forty years of collecting and a simple idea: every stamp deserves to be properly curated, preserved, fairly priced, and sent to someone who will appreciate it. We're putting together our opening inventory now.
The story
Small mountain town values, from Helena, Montana.
I started collecting stamps as a young boy; drawn to the mystery these little wonders represent. That to hold a stamp is holding a snapshot in history, of a time and a place, an entire story wrapped up between those delicate little borders. A Penny Black in your tongs has been to hundreds of places before it got to you. It's seen the world unfold over the course of almost two centuries. The least you can do is hold it in safety, in appreciation for what it represents.
Big Sky Stamps is my way of bringing that perspective to other collectors. I operate out of my studio in Helena, Montana — perfectly preserving and caring for the most exquisite, the most precious pieces of philately I have curated from around the world in a complete, climate-controlled environment. Everything here will be personally examined, photographed, and presented to you in the quality that it deserves. Every stamp sold is individually catalogued and vaulted. When you purchase a postage stamp, that stamp is what you receive. No middleman. No employees. Just stamps, properly curated, kept, and cared for personally, by me.
Focus areas: classic US, US Colonies, Canadian, Great Britain and her colonies, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, Germany and the German States, and Switzerland.
To preserve history, because "a penny saved is a penny earned."— Benjamin Franklin
