10c Fast Ocean Navigation-PSAG Grade 90
United States · 1901 · Classic US
$175.00
One of six commemoratives issued for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo. The highest- 10¢ value-shows a steamship at full speed, framed in an ornate yellow-brown vignette. Among the earliest two-color US issues, and a quietly beautiful piece of late-Victorian engraving.
This example carries a PSAG Grade 90 (Cert No. 0604082) — well above average centering and structure for the issue. Genuine, unused, original gum. Colors fresh, perfs clean, the design as crisp as you'd hope from a turn-of-the-century intaglio.
A century and a quarter on the water, and she's still steaming
