For sellers
We buy quality stamp collections.
Have you come into posession of a stamp collection through inheritance? Or maybe, something found at an estate sale that looked to old to pass on? Something gifted? Big Sky Stamps buys a lot of stamps, and we would be happy to turn your valuable stamps into money in the bank (or your pocket).
New to selling stamps? The self-check guide takes about ten minutes and helps you decide whether your collection is likely to be a good fit before you spend time photographing it.
What we consider
We specialize in classic stamps (pre-1930). Single-country collections, US, worldwide accumulations, postal history, covers and first-day covers, used or mint. Album, binder, glassine, or shoebox. The one thing we ask is that the material arrive in decent shape: dry, intact, free of mold or significant water damage. Mounted or loose is fine; tidy or untidy is fine. We’ll do the sorting.
How it works
- 1Send us photos and a description. Use our inquiry form to share photos of the collection plus a few details about its size and history.
- 2We respond within a few business days. Either with questions, a preliminary valuation range, or shipping instructions if we’d like to see the material in hand. Free, no obligation.
- 3If you ship it to us, we make a firm offer. Once the collection arrives, we work through it carefully and email you a written offer. If you accept, payment goes out within a few days.
Why us
Big Sky Stamps is a boutique operation in Helena, Montana — we deal in high quality, valuable material at a low volume. Every collection that comes our way gets personal attention from a philatelist who cares about both the stamps and the people parting with them. No anonymous warehouse, no algorithm-priced lowballs. When we make an offer, we explain the reasoning. When we list a stamp, the photo is the actual stamp.
