Queen Victoria-Scott #1
Victoria-Australia · 1850 · Great Britain & Colonies
$250.00
This is the first British colonial stamp ever issued under the Australian state of Victoria. This elegant timeless piece depicts the ruling queen Victoria. Almost 200 years old, issued in 1850. The color has held well over the years. This stamp has no tears or rips, it is original imperf, in very good condition for its age. This is the only British colony named after the queen, and it is the first stamp issue as such. A very rare find indeed-we have only one of these stamps in our inventory.
