US Scott 241 $1 Columbian 1893 Genuine Space-Filler w/ Faults PSAG Cert
United States · 1893 · Classic US
$98.00
United States — Scott #241, $1.00 Salmon, "Isabella Pledging Her Jewels," Columbian Exposition Issue of 1893
GENUINE STAMP — Accompanied by PSAG Certificate No. 0604081 (Recently dated 4/13/2026)
Cert reads verbatim: "It is genuine used with FAKE cancel, stains, tear at top left corner with added 231 corner to repair."
Please read carefully — this is offered as a SPACE-FILLER / REFERENCE COPY for the $1 Columbian space in your collection. Full disclosure of every cert finding:
• The stamp itself is GENUINE Scott 241 (salmon shade)
• The cancel is FAKE (not a genuine 1890s postal cancellation)
• Stains present
• Tear at top left corner
• Top left corner has been REPAIRED with a piece taken from a Scott 231 (2¢ Columbian) and added in
Despite the faults, the stamp displays reasonably well face-up, retains its strong salmon color, and lets a collector fill the $1 Columbian space at a fraction of the cost of a sound certified example. Sold AS-IS with the PSAG certificate included — the cert is the protection, both for you and for me.
Ships in a protective sleeve inside a rigid mailer. Combined shipping available. Questions welcome — please ask before bidding if anything is unclear.
